DSW

DSW Group Insurance Information

Regenboog Apotheek has a contract with the health insurers belonging to the DSW group. You can collect your medication at the pharmacy, and the insured care is covered by the health insurer.

ADHD Medication

Regenboog Apotheek also has an agreement with the DSW group insurers for the reimbursement of pharmacy-compounded ADHD medication from Regenboog Apotheek for 2022. All pharmacy-compounded ADHD medication is fully reimbursed from the basic package.

However, if you are a new user of pharmacy-compounded ADHD medication from Regenboog Apotheek, you need to submit a reimbursement request to DSW. DSW will evaluate this, and if approved, you will receive authorization for the reimbursement of the medication. The authorization only needs to be requested once per year.

DSW Authorization

The authorization request you submit to DSW should include:

  • Details of the insured person
  • Details of the practitioner
  • What ADHD medication you have been taking (e.g. Ritalin or Tentin)
  • Why you stopped taking this medicine (e.g. too many side effects)
  • Which medicine you are going to use (e.g. methylphenidate retard or dexamphetamine retard)

This request can be sent to info@dsw.nl. If you have any questions about the authorization, you can email dupon@regenboogapotheek.nl.

Tapering Medication / Tapering Strips

DSW insurers reimburse the first three strips of 28 days each (3x 28 days = 84 days) of tapering medication (in Tapering Strips). If you undergo a tapering trajectory that lasts longer than three strips, or 84 days, you can request an extension of the reimbursement through an authorization form from your doctor. DSW will assess your request and, if approved, will issue an authorisation for the remaining period of your tapering trajectory.
Once you have received authorization, you can send it to Regenboog Apotheek (tapering@regenboogapotheek.nl), and we will then claim the extra Tapering Strips  with DSW.

If you receive an authorisation from DSW you will have to check the authorisation period. You can find this on page 3 of the authorisation. The noted period has to correspond with the period in which the taperingstrips have been issued.

The request to your doctor has to at least include the following:

  • Which medication you are going to taper off.
If applicable, also which intake time (if you have multiple intake times per day)
  • Why you are going to taper off medicion with a taperingstrip
If applicable, even if an earlier attempt has been taken
  • How long the tapering trajectory wil take.
If you would like advice on this, you can request it free of charge via www.taperingstrip.nl (or a tapering website that is available in your country) under Forms >>> Advice recommendation form Tapering (Free).
  • The name and BIG-registrationnumber of your doctor.
  • Signature by your doctor.
  • Any other relevant information for your request for reimbursement of your Taperingstrip.

The authorization must be requested by the patient themselves. It concerns a supplement to the health insurance policy and is in the patient’s name. The patient also receives feedback about the authorization.
If you do not request/receive authorization, you will have to pay for the strips yourself from the third strip onwards.
