Reimbursements for Disulfiram from Regenboog Apotheek

Regenboog Apotheek prepares and supplies pharmacy-prepared disulfiram at the request of Verslavingskunde Nederland (VKN) for patients who might otherwise be excluded from care. This care should be reimbursed according to legislation and is therefore claimed from the health insurers. The North Netherlands District Court has also determined that the medication is rational medication and must be reimbursed from the basic package.

Currently, despite the rationality of this care, there are different opinions regarding the reimbursements for the pharmacy-prepared disulfiram. This is often due to a shortage of Refusal and/or Antabus (no longer available under Dutch registration), which are reimbursed from the basic package.

Several health insurers have stated they will reimburse this care:

  • DSW Group (DSW, StadHolland, inTwente)
  • CZ Group (CZ, OHRA, Nationale Nederlanden) – Note: These health insurers reimburse the medication only to a limited extent. Contact the health insurer for more details.
  • VGZ Group (Univé, VGZ, IZZ, IZA, Bewuzt, SZVK, Zekur, UMC, MVJP, Zorgzaam)
  • Menzis Group (Menzis, Anderzorg, HEMA)
  • VRZ Zorginkoop (Zorg en Zekerheid, Salland, Hollandzorg, Zorgdirect, ONVZ (ONVZ, VvAA, PNO Zorg)
  • ASR Group (Amersfoortse, Ditzo)
  • Caresq Group (Promovendum, National Academic, Besured, AON, Aevitae)

If the patient is insured with one of these insurers, the medication will be claimed from the health insurer. (This information is based on the most recent information from the health insurer. No rights can be derived from this information).

If you are insured elsewhere, you will always receive an invoice.

Regenboog Apotheek does not have a contract with the health insurers of the Achmea Group (Zilveren Kruis, ZieZo, Pro Life, One Underwriting Health, Interpolis, FBTO, De Friesland) and therefore cannot claim this care from the health insurer. According to our information, this care should also be reimbursed by Achmea, but only Achmea can provide a definitive answer. We advise you to contact Achmea if you need more information.

The price of the pharmacy-prepared disulfiram is calculated according to national agreements:
amount of mg active ingredient (tax price) + amount of mg excipients (tax price) + preparation fee + dispensing fee
